Deafheaven just closed out a 41-show North American tour and are ready to announce even more tour dates around the world this spring and summer.
Beginning in May, Deafheaven will tour SE Asia and Japan, followed by appearances at various high-profile European festivals (including Primavera in Spain and Fortarock in the Netherlands).
Following the July 2013 release of their roaring, critically-acclaimed sophomore album Jinx (7/23, Slumberland Records), Weekend embarked on a nationwide tour that will start back up on October 16th in Brooklyn.
Bandmates Shaun Durkan (vocals, bass), Kevin Johnson (guitar), Abe Pedroza (drums) and new member Nick Ray (bass) come together for a live show that’s equal parts electricity and beauty, pounding rhythms and dark post-punk vibes shoved through a shoegaze filter and glossed over with honey-sweet melodies and Shaun’s distant, wailing vocals.
Bay Area bands Bosse-de-Nage and Deafheaven will be recording a split E.P. for Flenser Records.
Saturday, Deafheaven will be holed up at Atomic Garden Studios with Jack Shirley recording “Punk Rock / Cody” by Mogwai, while Bosse-de-Nage will be recording a new original track with Justin Weis at Trakworx.

On January 15th, 2011, Deafheaven played a stunning set on a loading dock turned venue called “The Blacktop” in Bell Gardens, California. Also on the show was Low Places, Joyce Manor, and label mates Touche Amore. Deafheaven’s performance that night left attendees in awe, serving as the flash point for a whirlwind year for the genre bending band. This is a recording of their entire set from that show.
Deafheaven streams new track “Violet”!
Deafheaven, one of the newest additions to the roster over at Deathwish Inc, recently announced that their debut album will be made available April 26th, 2011.
Titled “Roads To Judah”, this album is a landmark effort for Deafheaven and a dizzying hybrid of shoe-gaze shimmer, hardcore vulnerability and black metal intensity. Check also out the brand new interview with vocalist George Clarke on www.BrooklynVegan.com.
Deafheaven has signed to Deathwish Inc. Deafheaven is a genre defying aggressive band from San Francisco, CA.
Their hybrid musical approach is outright stunning. A melding of epic Post Rock leanings (Envy, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) with experimental Black Metal (Xasthur, Weakling, Leviathan), and classic era “Screamo” (Orchid, Crimson Curse) into something never successfully experienced before.
In the summer of 2010, Deafheaven released their self titled demo which received great reviews from all sides of the music Blogosphere.
Deafheaven will soon enter the studio to record their new album titled “Roads to Judah” with Jack Shirley (Funeral Diner, Loma Prieta). This highly anticipated album will be released on Deathwish in 2011.
